29 August 2011

Woke up early as usual on monday,7:30 am but was still too tired. Left to college before 8. On the way saw a bunch of Africans arguing with a what looks like a Philippine girl. Wondered why nobody called the police. It was so loud I could hear it from half a block a way. First class, Programming Principles, act like a pro by answering so many programming related things. Probably because I think like a computer.

Second class, Web Fundamentals. Did most of the work on my own, we were given a lot of text and we were supposed to make it look like what was displayed on the screen. Managed to do almost all on my own. The person sitting beside me, some foreigner, couldn't do anything. She didnt understand HTML nor simple programming or even simple computer stuff such as zip files. Good thing is i was there to teach her. Not fed up.

Lunch, went out with some of the SUAC members. Had lunch at Medan nearby. Ate one of the worst wan ton mee. I had noodles with shredded chicken. The noodles was dry and hard, i had to pour soup nonstop onto it. We talked for long and i was almost 15 mins late for class. Didnt know the time again.

Computer Organisation class, did some logic gates lab work. Nothing much.

Came home and slept for a while. Woke up and spent a few rounds in LoL then off for dinner.

[TUT]How to earn money online without any startup.

Alright folks, since Im sure you guys spend a lotta time online doing whatever stuff you have, why not use this to earn some extra bucks. Im gonna share some links with you guys. Please use my links because it has my referral link there. It will give me some incentives for you joining those sites.

First of all, you need to find out what are the requirements of some of the sites.
  1. How do I earn money from this site?
    Surveys? Advertisements? Testing new products?
Warning!!! Don't bluf your way in your surveys because the survey companies can forfeit paying you if they think you cheat in surveys. Another thing with survey companies is they tend to have a timer where they check how long you take to finish a survey. If too short, they will say you skimmed it and will give you the minimum pay or forfeit it.
  2. What do I need?
  3. How frequent do I earn money?
  4. How much do I need to cash out?
  5. Referrals? Bonus?
Alright now I will go through some of the sites I sign up for.

Says.my

This site gives you money based on pay-per-click method. Basically, its easy to setup if you have a facebook or twitter account. All you have to do is share advertisements with the unique link given by each advertisement. When someone(other than you) clicks the link, you will be paid some money based on how much their offering(normally RM0.20). Other than that, there are rare surveys which you can fill you can do to earn some extra bucks. From what ive seen, they pay RM0.50-RM5.00 depending on survey.

How does it work? You just need to create an account here. After creating an account, you will be given advertisements which you can share.

Total rewards are the total amount the company will be releasing to the people.
For you is the maximum amount you can get for sharing that advertisement.
Per unique visit shows the amount paid per click.

Conclusion:
If you have a large friends list and you don't mind turning your social networking account into an advertisement sharing source too then go ahead with it. Cash out is at RM50 by sending cheque to you. They pay RM1.00 per referral too after completing their "mission"(basically the first 3 referrals who join don't count)

Survey Savvy

A survey site where they pay you for filling surveys. Basically after registering here, you have to fill in portrait surveys which allows the company to decide which surveys suit you. I can't say much since this survey hasn't given me any surveys.

My Survey

Similar to Survey Savvy except they use points system. As far as I know, they don't give cash. Points can be exchanged for vouchers for McDanalds, Jusco, KFC/Pizza Hut/Ayamas, MPH, Isetan and Parkson vouchers. I also haven't received any surveys from them.

Global Test Market

Just another survey site like the rest. This one uses Market Points. 1000 Market Points = $50. That is the required amount to cash out. So far I have received 2 surveys from them, one of them I was screen out, meaning they gave me a survey but after answering a few questions then they realized I was not fit for the survey thus rewarding me for only the minimum amount of 5 Market Points. Another survey which I received was a long one which took me about 20-30 minutes but only gave me the maximum of 35 Market Points. After calculations, every Market Point is worth $0.05.

Conclusion, I think its a popular one to be able to give more surveys to people not from the US.

Shout!Box

In my opinion, MOST USELESS. From what they said:
It's been quite hectic lately here at the office. And in case you haven't heard, we already blast out the invitations for our newest Survey 9, so please do check your mailbox, maybe you're one of the lucky people we selected. In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to wish our Muslim members, Happy Ramadhan! Have a great weekend guys!
They have started off before May 2010 and till not its the 9th survey?

Conclusion:
Don't bother. They also don't have referrals system.

Survey Head

By just joining this site, they pay you $5.00. By completing your profile surveys, you have earned another $1.00. Nice eh? However, to cash out you need $25.00 at least and i think its through paypal. No surveys received yet. No referral system.

Conclusion:
Quick early payments.
http://www.surveyhead.com

Tech-Facts

Not satisfied with $5 by joining? How about $10? However after filling up their profile surveys, you only get $0.90 not $1.00. The site is exactly the same as Survey Head.

Conclusion:
More initial money.

Cash Create

Ever thought that you could get paid for testing a product? How about earning rebates by shopping? You can do them all in Cash Create. An online site where you can earn money by testing products, completing surveys and more. Cash create has 2 system which are cash and points. Cash is what you earn while points is what you can exchange for vouchers and more. You can earn points easily here. Even by helping out in their community, you earn points. It really encourages people to be active. However some of their offers involves you using money but it has a higher payout rate. Example: there's one which requires you to deposit $10.00 but you will get $15.00 in return. Don't forget to click the submit button or you may not earn the money. Referrals are also available where referrals will allow their referrer to earn some money on top of what you earn. They have several levels of referrals which are:
First Level: Bronze
All users start out at this referral level.
Active Referrals Needed: None!
First Level Referral Earnings: 20%
Second Level Referral Earnings: 10%
Other Benefits:

Second Level: Silver

Second Level Referral Earnings: 10%
Other Benefits:
- Get paid on the 1st of every month rather than the 15th.
- Choose between check or Direct Deposit for your payment method.
- Option to get $1.00 for every active referral instead of the usual $3.00 bonus.
Third Level: Gold
Active Referrals Needed: 150

[EVENTS] MONO's Concert

Rush rush rush rush.

Had a quick dinner at popeyes and rushed cuz we were already late.

Luckily when we queued up and enter, we still got almost to the front. Still good, or rather lucky.

After a while, the first band, AKTA ANGKASA played. Didnt like their music that well because if you can translate instrumental music into vocals, it has what I would classify as badly arranged lyrics and constant recycling the same words except having different words o form that line. The band was a 4 person band where you have a guitarist, a bassist, a keyboardist(which was a girl) and a drummer.

Next was CITIZENS OF ICE CREAM. I was actually quite impressed with their music as i didnt expect it to be that good. Their music was arranged to revolve around the keyboardist(thats what I think). Probably will get their album soon. Oh yah, their keyboardist was damn good.

Lastly was FURNITURE. Music, meh. Vocals? Ok I will now get into the main issue here. The sound guy should get sacked. Basically, the person who was in-charged with the sound system has a liking to up the sounds for guitars until it eats into everything else. So for the first band, they had to call them to change the volumes after each song. Second band for first few songs. For Furniture however, they were the only band which sung. Sad to say, the vocals were swallowed up by the music until you can see the main singer opening his mouth but no sound could be heard coming out.

When MONO came out, I predicted the first song they will play would be Ashes In The Snow. Sure enough they did. Follow the Map and another song from the album Hymn to the Immortal Wind. Can tell what some of the tracks were. Then, I told by brothers, "I hope they will play Moonlight". Sure enough they did play that as their next song.
That was their last song. Then the band proceeded to leave the stage. The crowd started shouting "We want more!". After constant efforts, one of the Soundscape guys went on stage and told the guy in-charged of the lights to cut the lights. He did. However, the lights at the entrance to the stage was bright enough where people could see the band pop up. They came onto the stage and actually spoke to the crowd. I guessed they came back to play a bonus track which I predicted would be Everlasting Light. Sure enough they did.

Overall, the concert was worth the RM100. Oh yah, I picked up 3 picks. 1 was on the synthesizer, 2 were on the floor below the stage. My guess, the first one i picked up was used by MONO. How to guess which one(they got mixed up)? I guess its the one which is most warned off. However, I was very disappointed with the sound guy because even MONO were communicating with each other and telling the Soundscape guys that the volumes needed adjusting(several times).

[FOOD] Sakae Sushi

Went there on Thursday. Reason is that there was a buy 1 free 1 for all red plate(RM5.99).

As we were about to enter, they greeted us with irashaimasen, expected because its a Japanese restaurant. The waitress who brought us to our table was short and cute(too bad i didnt get her pic but maybe next time).

Since I was a first timer there, my bro had to teach me how to order and how their system works.

Drinks, I had some green tea. RM2 just for a packet of tea so we drank about 10 cups worth since it was good. Problem is at the end near the tea bag, there is a burnt like taste but who cares? Good tea is good tea.

First dish that we took was NOT a red plate but a blue plate which is the most expensive. Octopus...

Don't ask me what the rest are called. I'll just post images:

The eggs leaves a good feeling in the mouth.

These eggs pops in your mouth leaving the awesome juice behind.

Soft shell crab. Should have eaten it when it was freshly served to us.

Unagi.

Some mixture of shrimp octopus and salmon I think?

Probably this was the most disappointing dish because the picture looks so much appetizing than the actual dish.

Conclusion:
Overall, the food tasted great and was worth the money spent.
I would rate:
Taste: 9/10 Never eaten sushi like this.
Dining ambiance: 9/10 Place was kinda cramp.
Cleanliness: 8/10 because the plates at the table were dirty.
Customer service: 10/10 Because the waitresses id take the time to explain and answer questions when answered.
Overall: 9/10

[FOOD] Boycotting Pizza Hut

Today I ate lunch at pizza hut. Food was total crap. I had this Island Supreme or something like that. When they served it to me, the plate was already smeared everywhere with cheese and oil. Im not complaining on that.
Took the first slice, the tuna tasted like typical cheap tuna. After that I realized that the bread used was so soft, no crisp and it was thin. Next was they smeared the cheese everywhere just to hide the bread, expected. Next crab stick? You mean Crap Sticks. No doubt my bill only ended at Rm6.40, but that is after 50% discount because of the promotion. If I paid the actual price, I WILL surely bang table. No way im gonna pay so much for crap.

In conclusion, BOYCOTT. Not worth spending so much money if the food is just normal or below normal. Yes Im also talking about the meat ball spaghetti which i ate a few weeks back where everything tasted normal except the butter bread stick was hopeless.

2nd Sem.

I came to class late because there was a massive traffic jam after the turn off to Puchong after the Puchong toll.

First class was Communication Skills. The lecturer was a plum man which I have seen as he was a relief teacher during my first sem. He looks like a lecturer capable of teaching but he seems to be too happy go lucky type which makes people in my class gonna climb and sit on his head.

We had a 6 hour break after that because the next subject was Global Business Trends which was not in my route taken.

The next subject was Research for Degree Study. The lecturer was quite old; Singaporean man. He made jokes as if its a part of his normal way of talking. He seems to be experienced and capable of teaching us well. However he explained that the subject is very tough so we have to be prepared and there are 12 assignments over 12 weeks. Only 2 of them are to be taken back to be done at home.

Bad news is I heard from my friend that my IT Applications lecturer is a total NOOB.

ef

Do not be fooled by thinking ef stands for f***.

I liked ef A tale of Memories. The story is mysterious and keeps you addicted to it as you want to know whats gonna happen next. Its not as sad as Clannad but still its a nice love story. Recommended to watch

I hated ef A tale of Melodies. It was just copy paste of the first one except that its got fillers and its about the adults in Memories. The other difference is this one alternates from the past and the future as well as its about 2 guys. The fillers is really annoying as it just repeats a sentence with the text in Japanese filling up the whole screen with sentences which are the same except they keep changing 1 or 2 words at the end for about 3 minutes long. This happen 2 times in that anime and it really makes your teeth grind. Still recomended but it would have been better if not for the fillers.

Overall, both of them had beautiful art and music. Since its based on an adult game, so I understand why the female characters strip after confessions and sleep with the male partner. However, the show is clean.

Ratings :
ef a tale of Memories (8/10 stars)
ef a tale of Melodies (6/10 stars)

APIIT/UCTI fail exam system.

Today before and after the final paper which was Maths, I was pissed. Wanna know why?

Before the Maths paper, we had the assumption that we will be provided with everything we need (especially the formula booklet) as our Maths Lecturer said "You dont need to bring anything in because everything will be provided.". When I entered the exam hall, I heard someone ask the one of the people in-charge if they can bring a paper with the formulas in. He then called somewhere and he said they can bring 1 sheet of paper with the formulas inside. Firstly, nobody in my class seem to know that. I think the only person who brought the paper in was a repeat student. Why am I angry?
* We were NOT INFORMED.
* Its stupid. Who knows what else is written in that paper? The overseers didn't check.
* The contents in the paper are all different.

For those students who got caught in this event, I suggest forming a LARGE group to complain. Individual students going to complain will have their reports brushed off the shoulder for sure. Please discuss this matter with your friends so that this matter doesn't reoccur again.

Bon Odori 2010.

Bon Odori was AWESOME!!!

At 5 pm, I entered the train(KTM) which Wijaya and Teck Quan was in. After we arrived at Shah Alam, we were greeted with a shuttle bus which goes to Bon Odori; FOC. When we arrived, we went into the stadium. The staff were giving out hand fans; I guess its part of the culture to have fans. Next we saw a stall selling headbands with devils horns and the seller was shouting "Bon Odori lights!". Come on I wonder which IDIOT would fall for that. Soon we meet Lunar. We walked and started looking for food. We first stop at a stall to and Wijaya bought a box of pastries(5 chocolate thingi) for RM25. A bit pricey but it was worth it. Next we walked on and I bought a Japanese Beer and Wijaya bought a Japanese version of 100PLUS. RM8 for the beer and RM2 for the other. I should have bought the RM2 one as it was actually quite reasonably priced. However since it taste like 100Plus but without gas(Wijaya told me this) so I thought it was a waste. Now Im regretting it. Damn!

Never mind. Next we went to another stall selling buns. WOW! I saw real life Melon Bun for the first time. Taste great but it was RM3 and quite small. First thing that came to my mind when I saw that was, SHANA! We went on skipping a lot of stalls as the food was expensive. Then we reached a Takoyaki stall. The que was gg. We waited in line to buy it. After 20 minutes waiting, we heard the drums started playing. I let Teck Quan and Wijaya go to watch the show as I lend Teck Quan my camera to take pics as I remain lining up. I waited for like 1 hour and 15 minutes just to buy Takoyaki. Teck Quan said it was only half but the taste sends you to Nirvana straight away. It was superb. After buying it, I called Wijaya to find out where they were.
Me: Hello, where are you?
Wijaya: We are at the big "clock" there.
Me: The big "block"? *Tries to recall what block*
Wijaya: Yeah the big "clock".
Me: Big "Cock"? Where is that?
Wijaya: You know where the stalls are right? Look for the big clock with the Pansonic.
Me: Oh big clock.
They had quite a seat, on a hill. We could watch the show. After a while Teck Quan betrayed us by separating just to go dating with his malay friend. So I told Wijaya, "Wijaya lets go look for food". So he agreed. Then we went looking for food. Jusco had a large stall. Then there was this sushi stall which caught our eyes. It was Kanasai Sushi. Almost nobody ate there. Wijaya wanted to eat Unagi so we searched for Unagi. I saw a stal selling Unagi but the que was long. Wijaya spotted a stall beside of it selling Unagi also but I told him "You sure u want to buy theirs? They are M____ people.". Thus Wijaya decided to just que up. Then guess who we saw? We saw Steven Kuan at the front of the que. So wijaya asked him to help him buy the Unagi Don. Next I went for Pizza but all the food was already sold out. So I bought shaved Ice form the stall called Nico-Nico Food. They gave a lot of Ice but it was RM4. Taste good enough though.

After that, we ate for a while and Teck Quan joined us soon. We surveyed the rest of the stalls which were giving discounts for their products cuz they were closing. After that, we went back to KTM. Teck Quan and Wijaya wanted to take Taxi since the que was very long but I don't like to take taxies. So we split. I take KTM and they take taxi.

Pictures I will upload later as I need to sort through them. In the end, it was worth it. But we should have came earlier around 5 or earlier. The Place was swarming as there were more than 1000 people there; Mostly Chinese followed by Japanese. Next year its a must go. To those people who didnt get to go, I feel sorry for you guys but theres always next year.

Friday is Failday!

Today we had English and PDSM test. For English, we had reading test which is just read a passage and answer questions. I left the room after 40 minutes. As for PDSM, it was kind of easy except for a few questions. Finished in like 20 minutes I think?

Ok, after that, we ate lunch at the cafeteria. Today they had "Ayam Pandan"(Pandan Chicken). Ayam pandan is like the best food served in the Cafeteria. After eating, we left to send Alif to the Mosque I mean Community Hall where they do their prayers. So Me, Teck Quan(driver), Ming Juei and Wijaya went to look for the cendol stall where people wear uniform. We found it! Teck Quan was scared to park at the road side(since the cendol stall was a road side one)so he drove to the Store. We don't know why but Teck Quan lead us in to the store, exit at the other end, walk to the back of the Store and back to the car. First of all the cendol stall is more than 1 km away from the Store. Secondly, we walked one big circle around the Store. Since Wijaya wanted to go to toilet, the rest of us excluding Alif because he was praying. Got in to the car and we drove off. We saw Wijaya Walking to the car but we just drove past him and he didn't even realize until Ming Juei started shouting.

So we drove to the Community Hall to wait for Alif. Opposite the hall was a Chinese high school so we were looking at girls. Even got to see ___________ . Alif came out and it was like 2:14 and we didn't have enough time to go eat cendol so we headed back to college. On the way, there was a long trafic jam. I was playing songs in the car; stuff from Girls Dead Monster(Alif requested), then M.O.V.E. then the Darkness. We were singing away and laughing because we sounded gay. Ming Juei on the other hand was sleeping until he started leaning on my shoulder. Since one of my principles in life is "Don't Disturb Sleeping People", I didn't bother at all. It started raining and we were caught in the rain; no air cond because Quan Quan Cai's car's air cond rosak. Since it was raining heavily, we were caught in the rain and had to run to the shuttle stand once we parked the car. Waited like hell for the shuttle to come and Teck Quan was so worried because we were already late and Teck Quan has group presentation to do for OSE. Reached college and rushed to class just to see the finale for the first groups presentation. When Quan Quan Cai did their presentation, they went overtime and did not show Matrix Runs on Windows XP.

In conclusion, Friday is Failday. Failwarwick.

I have a blog?

I keep forgetting that I have a blog. That's the reason why I seldom update. I need to remember to blog more often hopefully that will attract more followers.

YUI わ~。°(°´д`°)°。~ん

わ~。°(°´д`°)°。~ん
I wonder why do I react to things so late. After a long time after watching episode 10 of Angel Beats! finally I realized YUI わ~。°(°´д`°)°。~ん.

If you want to know more, its here. Warning!!! Spoiler alert.

So what have I been doing the whole time since I last posted? Assignments, Baka Test, K-ON!!, and a few other stuff.

What I have to say:
1.) K-ON!! sucks. Its not that funny, getting boring episode after episode. Not only that, they are recycleing the same songs over and over again. Come ON! this is supposed to be a musical show. It lacks MUSIC! EPIC FAIL! I would say that Angel Beats! is x1000 better. Its got great music, great characters, great story, great jokes and so many other great stuff.

2.) Baka Test is boring from the start but actually is funny. Their strategies also are superb!

Trip to the Heart of KL.

A few of us classmates went to KL today; Nero, Alif, Teck Quan, Kah Seng and some other dude whom I don't know his name. Sorry about that. We had to take 2 taxi's to LRT because we all missed the bus 15 minutes ago. Then from LRT we took a train ride which cost RM1.90 per way. Once we reached KL we walked to Times Square, walking pass Pudu Jail which is in a sad state.

This is not a photoshop image.

Anyway we ate at MCD @ Times Square. After that, we all went to the figurine shops opposite MCD. I was looking at the prices of Gundam, Macross and Transformers figurines. Sadly, except for Gundam, the rest were too expensive. Transformers, I was only looking for Beast Wars series. I did find some, Dinobot(already have), Cheetah(Not nice), Waspinator(looks bloggy) and Megatron in 2 forms; dragon(looks very nice but didnt ask for price. Im estimating about RM200++) and dinosaur(RM150 and its only display model). So after touring those 3 shops, we split up; me and Teck Quan went to Law Yat while the rest stayed at Times Square. At law yat, we walked and walked and walked even more. I just went window shopping especially at the figurine shop there(wasn't cheaper). Teck Quan stop by to buy his tablet for RM660(RM715 at the box). We later went to All IT cuz Teck Quan wanted to buy Bad Company 2. Alif later wanted to meet us but Teck Quan got lost because we were on the wrong floor. Don't ask me where we were because I have extremely sucky self GPS. We meet up but sadly for me, we didn't get to go to Sungei Wang. Next trip we will make sure we have enough time. We walked back to LRT but we spit into 3 groups. Alif went alone walking straight to Monorail. The rest of us walked to Times Square and we spit up again, Teck Quan and I went to 7-11 then walked to LRT while the rest went to Monorail straight. In the end, Teck Quan and I reached LRT faster then those who took the Monorail. The LRT train was crowded and Kah Seng wanted to go to the same train as all of the high school girls there.

Prove! He and Nero somewhere in the middle, you can only see their heads.

Anyway, we went back and they were blur on why when they jump in the moving train they wouldn't fly. They later remembered their chapter 5 for science; Inertia. We later took another cab back to college. For some reason, cab meters go up eventhough we are stationary. Now thats BULLSHIT!

Ending of April.

Ok, April is ending and a lot of good is coming in. I've finally managed to adept in collage. YEAH! Next is I've made a lot of friends suddenly. YEAH! Thirdly, I'm in charged of handling our class forum. NOOoooo! Wait, nevermind. Hopefully this will not be a failure of making forums.

However, assignments are starting to come in. Next is I have signed my life away. So, if I died, its not my fault. Anyway, I guess I need to buck up and get all Aces in my first semester. Then my dad will buy me a laptop for free(It's been a hell of a long time since he ever rewarded me for my achievements).

Note to myself:
1. Save lots of money.
2. Treat my grandparents to an expensive meal. They deserve it for all that they have put in to me.
3. Study more.
4. Less gaming(I seem to be increasing my gaming times lately).
5. Stop thinking of the past.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

May is comming...

May is coming and I'm hoping to have a new start or a better life. Focus more on studies. Save more money(hopefully can buy laptop but at the rate things are going it looks like it will take a million years). Make more friends. And most importantly, stop thinking about my past before I get sent to Tanjung Rambutan.

[REVIEW][MUSIC]Angels and Airwaves

Here's a little you need to know about them if you don't know them. (Taken from wikipedia)
Angels & Airwaves (often abbreviated as "AVA") is an alternative rock band led by Blink-182 guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge. The band also includes guitarist David Kennedy, notably from Over My Dead Body, Hazen Street and Box Car Racer, drummer Atom Willard from The Offspring and Rocket from the Crypt and former 30 Seconds to Mars bassist Matt Wachter,The Distillers bassist Ryan Sinn in May 2007.

Their new album titled LOVE is availeble for free at http://modlife.com/angelsandairwaves/love. Not many artist have been giving out their albums for free. We should support them by at least getting a digital copy of their album.

Angels and Airwaves made the style of their album LOVE the same as their first album. This means that you can hear the space ambiance in their music. You can say that this album sounds almost the same as their first album except for several things.

Firstly, in LOVE some of their songs have an instrumental song after the song. What I mean by this is in one song, they play the song with the vocals. Once the song ends then there is a one or two second pause before hearing another song in instrumental.

Secondly, songs like Young London in their album LOVE has poor lyric contents. This is because they have an opening then they keep repeating the chorus then finally the ending. Here's the lyrics for that song:
I'm not the one to complain of bad dreams
It's like disease, but without a life
It's all a scene with this great directive
That we're all lost and we're stuck in time
We feel alone in a strange blue ocean
And we're all scared as death to die

I'm not the one to admit it's helpless
I have a sense that we will be alright
I wish for peace with electric silence
To keep our hearts beating on our minds
And we will see that we're all connected
When we awake to the tunnel's light

(Suit up, boys
We're on vacation
With endless stay and reservations
Saddest girls
Who will await while dying inside
How will they get by?) x2

(Suit up, boys
Let's ride, it's the weekend
Get down, girls
And dance with your best friend
Show yourselves, and take what you ask for
Let it go, no fights on the dance floor) x4

The night gets better, but wait, so wonderful
They move together and dance so colorful
And kiss like flowers that breathe with pheromones
Songs get louder, it feels so natural

Their songs still have meanings as most of them is either love songs or an emo song.

In conclusion I would say its worth listening to. I would rate it 8/10.
