[EVENTS] MONO's Concert

Rush rush rush rush.

Had a quick dinner at popeyes and rushed cuz we were already late.

Luckily when we queued up and enter, we still got almost to the front. Still good, or rather lucky.

After a while, the first band, AKTA ANGKASA played. Didnt like their music that well because if you can translate instrumental music into vocals, it has what I would classify as badly arranged lyrics and constant recycling the same words except having different words o form that line. The band was a 4 person band where you have a guitarist, a bassist, a keyboardist(which was a girl) and a drummer.

Next was CITIZENS OF ICE CREAM. I was actually quite impressed with their music as i didnt expect it to be that good. Their music was arranged to revolve around the keyboardist(thats what I think). Probably will get their album soon. Oh yah, their keyboardist was damn good.

Lastly was FURNITURE. Music, meh. Vocals? Ok I will now get into the main issue here. The sound guy should get sacked. Basically, the person who was in-charged with the sound system has a liking to up the sounds for guitars until it eats into everything else. So for the first band, they had to call them to change the volumes after each song. Second band for first few songs. For Furniture however, they were the only band which sung. Sad to say, the vocals were swallowed up by the music until you can see the main singer opening his mouth but no sound could be heard coming out.

When MONO came out, I predicted the first song they will play would be Ashes In The Snow. Sure enough they did. Follow the Map and another song from the album Hymn to the Immortal Wind. Can tell what some of the tracks were. Then, I told by brothers, "I hope they will play Moonlight". Sure enough they did play that as their next song.
That was their last song. Then the band proceeded to leave the stage. The crowd started shouting "We want more!". After constant efforts, one of the Soundscape guys went on stage and told the guy in-charged of the lights to cut the lights. He did. However, the lights at the entrance to the stage was bright enough where people could see the band pop up. They came onto the stage and actually spoke to the crowd. I guessed they came back to play a bonus track which I predicted would be Everlasting Light. Sure enough they did.

Overall, the concert was worth the RM100. Oh yah, I picked up 3 picks. 1 was on the synthesizer, 2 were on the floor below the stage. My guess, the first one i picked up was used by MONO. How to guess which one(they got mixed up)? I guess its the one which is most warned off. However, I was very disappointed with the sound guy because even MONO were communicating with each other and telling the Soundscape guys that the volumes needed adjusting(several times).

[FOOD] Sakae Sushi

Went there on Thursday. Reason is that there was a buy 1 free 1 for all red plate(RM5.99).

As we were about to enter, they greeted us with irashaimasen, expected because its a Japanese restaurant. The waitress who brought us to our table was short and cute(too bad i didnt get her pic but maybe next time).

Since I was a first timer there, my bro had to teach me how to order and how their system works.

Drinks, I had some green tea. RM2 just for a packet of tea so we drank about 10 cups worth since it was good. Problem is at the end near the tea bag, there is a burnt like taste but who cares? Good tea is good tea.

First dish that we took was NOT a red plate but a blue plate which is the most expensive. Octopus...

Don't ask me what the rest are called. I'll just post images:

The eggs leaves a good feeling in the mouth.

These eggs pops in your mouth leaving the awesome juice behind.

Soft shell crab. Should have eaten it when it was freshly served to us.

Unagi.

Some mixture of shrimp octopus and salmon I think?

Probably this was the most disappointing dish because the picture looks so much appetizing than the actual dish.

Conclusion:
Overall, the food tasted great and was worth the money spent.
I would rate:
Taste: 9/10 Never eaten sushi like this.
Dining ambiance: 9/10 Place was kinda cramp.
Cleanliness: 8/10 because the plates at the table were dirty.
Customer service: 10/10 Because the waitresses id take the time to explain and answer questions when answered.
Overall: 9/10

[FOOD] Boycotting Pizza Hut

Today I ate lunch at pizza hut. Food was total crap. I had this Island Supreme or something like that. When they served it to me, the plate was already smeared everywhere with cheese and oil. Im not complaining on that.
Took the first slice, the tuna tasted like typical cheap tuna. After that I realized that the bread used was so soft, no crisp and it was thin. Next was they smeared the cheese everywhere just to hide the bread, expected. Next crab stick? You mean Crap Sticks. No doubt my bill only ended at Rm6.40, but that is after 50% discount because of the promotion. If I paid the actual price, I WILL surely bang table. No way im gonna pay so much for crap.

In conclusion, BOYCOTT. Not worth spending so much money if the food is just normal or below normal. Yes Im also talking about the meat ball spaghetti which i ate a few weeks back where everything tasted normal except the butter bread stick was hopeless.

2nd Sem.

I came to class late because there was a massive traffic jam after the turn off to Puchong after the Puchong toll.

First class was Communication Skills. The lecturer was a plum man which I have seen as he was a relief teacher during my first sem. He looks like a lecturer capable of teaching but he seems to be too happy go lucky type which makes people in my class gonna climb and sit on his head.

We had a 6 hour break after that because the next subject was Global Business Trends which was not in my route taken.

The next subject was Research for Degree Study. The lecturer was quite old; Singaporean man. He made jokes as if its a part of his normal way of talking. He seems to be experienced and capable of teaching us well. However he explained that the subject is very tough so we have to be prepared and there are 12 assignments over 12 weeks. Only 2 of them are to be taken back to be done at home.

Bad news is I heard from my friend that my IT Applications lecturer is a total NOOB.

ef

Do not be fooled by thinking ef stands for f***.

I liked ef A tale of Memories. The story is mysterious and keeps you addicted to it as you want to know whats gonna happen next. Its not as sad as Clannad but still its a nice love story. Recommended to watch

I hated ef A tale of Melodies. It was just copy paste of the first one except that its got fillers and its about the adults in Memories. The other difference is this one alternates from the past and the future as well as its about 2 guys. The fillers is really annoying as it just repeats a sentence with the text in Japanese filling up the whole screen with sentences which are the same except they keep changing 1 or 2 words at the end for about 3 minutes long. This happen 2 times in that anime and it really makes your teeth grind. Still recomended but it would have been better if not for the fillers.

Overall, both of them had beautiful art and music. Since its based on an adult game, so I understand why the female characters strip after confessions and sleep with the male partner. However, the show is clean.

Ratings :
ef a tale of Memories (8/10 stars)
ef a tale of Melodies (6/10 stars)

APIIT/UCTI fail exam system.

Today before and after the final paper which was Maths, I was pissed. Wanna know why?

Before the Maths paper, we had the assumption that we will be provided with everything we need (especially the formula booklet) as our Maths Lecturer said "You dont need to bring anything in because everything will be provided.". When I entered the exam hall, I heard someone ask the one of the people in-charge if they can bring a paper with the formulas in. He then called somewhere and he said they can bring 1 sheet of paper with the formulas inside. Firstly, nobody in my class seem to know that. I think the only person who brought the paper in was a repeat student. Why am I angry?
* We were NOT INFORMED.
* Its stupid. Who knows what else is written in that paper? The overseers didn't check.
* The contents in the paper are all different.

For those students who got caught in this event, I suggest forming a LARGE group to complain. Individual students going to complain will have their reports brushed off the shoulder for sure. Please discuss this matter with your friends so that this matter doesn't reoccur again.

Bon Odori 2010.

Bon Odori was AWESOME!!!

At 5 pm, I entered the train(KTM) which Wijaya and Teck Quan was in. After we arrived at Shah Alam, we were greeted with a shuttle bus which goes to Bon Odori; FOC. When we arrived, we went into the stadium. The staff were giving out hand fans; I guess its part of the culture to have fans. Next we saw a stall selling headbands with devils horns and the seller was shouting "Bon Odori lights!". Come on I wonder which IDIOT would fall for that. Soon we meet Lunar. We walked and started looking for food. We first stop at a stall to and Wijaya bought a box of pastries(5 chocolate thingi) for RM25. A bit pricey but it was worth it. Next we walked on and I bought a Japanese Beer and Wijaya bought a Japanese version of 100PLUS. RM8 for the beer and RM2 for the other. I should have bought the RM2 one as it was actually quite reasonably priced. However since it taste like 100Plus but without gas(Wijaya told me this) so I thought it was a waste. Now Im regretting it. Damn!

Never mind. Next we went to another stall selling buns. WOW! I saw real life Melon Bun for the first time. Taste great but it was RM3 and quite small. First thing that came to my mind when I saw that was, SHANA! We went on skipping a lot of stalls as the food was expensive. Then we reached a Takoyaki stall. The que was gg. We waited in line to buy it. After 20 minutes waiting, we heard the drums started playing. I let Teck Quan and Wijaya go to watch the show as I lend Teck Quan my camera to take pics as I remain lining up. I waited for like 1 hour and 15 minutes just to buy Takoyaki. Teck Quan said it was only half but the taste sends you to Nirvana straight away. It was superb. After buying it, I called Wijaya to find out where they were.
Me: Hello, where are you?
Wijaya: We are at the big "clock" there.
Me: The big "block"? *Tries to recall what block*
Wijaya: Yeah the big "clock".
Me: Big "Cock"? Where is that?
Wijaya: You know where the stalls are right? Look for the big clock with the Pansonic.
Me: Oh big clock.
They had quite a seat, on a hill. We could watch the show. After a while Teck Quan betrayed us by separating just to go dating with his malay friend. So I told Wijaya, "Wijaya lets go look for food". So he agreed. Then we went looking for food. Jusco had a large stall. Then there was this sushi stall which caught our eyes. It was Kanasai Sushi. Almost nobody ate there. Wijaya wanted to eat Unagi so we searched for Unagi. I saw a stal selling Unagi but the que was long. Wijaya spotted a stall beside of it selling Unagi also but I told him "You sure u want to buy theirs? They are M____ people.". Thus Wijaya decided to just que up. Then guess who we saw? We saw Steven Kuan at the front of the que. So wijaya asked him to help him buy the Unagi Don. Next I went for Pizza but all the food was already sold out. So I bought shaved Ice form the stall called Nico-Nico Food. They gave a lot of Ice but it was RM4. Taste good enough though.

After that, we ate for a while and Teck Quan joined us soon. We surveyed the rest of the stalls which were giving discounts for their products cuz they were closing. After that, we went back to KTM. Teck Quan and Wijaya wanted to take Taxi since the que was very long but I don't like to take taxies. So we split. I take KTM and they take taxi.

Pictures I will upload later as I need to sort through them. In the end, it was worth it. But we should have came earlier around 5 or earlier. The Place was swarming as there were more than 1000 people there; Mostly Chinese followed by Japanese. Next year its a must go. To those people who didnt get to go, I feel sorry for you guys but theres always next year.
